We are a joyous and celebratory bunch. We love to laugh and have fun; even in the midst of tears. Such divine delight breaks forth into every aspect of our lives together, from our worship and work, our study and service, and to our music and mission. We like each other, enjoy spending time with one another, and we would surely enjoy the opportunity to have some fun together with you.
In response to the constantly changing world in which we live and the seemingly ever-increasing demands placed upon all of us, we do not wish the church to be a place of burden. While each person is welcome and invited to become involved in the life and work of the congregation to whatever degree they wish, and there are a great many opportunities to do so, we encourage folks to set their own levels and areas of engagement. Everyone will necessarily have a different “orbit” around the church; some near and regular, some far and occasional. Not only do we recognize this reality, we honor it. First and foremost, we would like the church to be a place of sanctuary, support, and connection for all who find their way to us. We wish to help, lean in to listen, and allow people the space and pace to ask their own questions and share in the genuine care we have for each other.
Amazingly, we always seem to be a congregation that is eager to get to know each other. Strangers quickly become friends, relationships deepen and lengthen, children grow up as part of a nurturing, multi-generational community of caring adults, families are sustained, and we support folks and their loved ones on the last stretch of their journey home believing very strongly that good things can happen at the end.
