Crafts Made By Woman Who Care
What Is The Woman-To-Woman Project? The Woman-To-Woman project is designed to help the Presbyterian Women’s Guilds of the Synod of Livingstonia in Malawi, Africa raise money for the care and support of AIDS orphans in their congregations. With our help, the Women’s Guilds in Malawi are producing income through the sale of locally made items. The Presbytery of Northern New York has established a sister relationship with the Synod of Livingstonia in Malawi, Africa. Through visits and friendships born of this bond, the Woman-To-Woman Project has emerged. The Woman-To-Woman Project will sell hand crafted items from Malawi, with the proceeds from the sales being sent directly to the Synod of Livingstonia where the Women’s Guild will use the funds to care for orphans of the AIDS epidemic.
Over 300,000 children have lost their parents to AIDS and their future is very precarious. The children and their caretakers depend heavily on the support of the church to help with basic needs for clothing, nutrition & education.
You can help by purchasing goods through Woman-To-Woman or by getting your organization involved in the sale of crafts. Monies can be donated toward start-up costs for the purchase of sewing machines for the women to make crafts. If you have a particular skill or talent that might be helpful on this project, contact us!
The Woman-To-Woman Project is made up of women from The First Presbyterian Church of Canton, and women throughout Northern New York and is growing every day. If you want to get involved you can contact Molly Ames at (amesm@northnet.org) or Linda Potter at (cantonpc-lpotter@northnet.org)
